How Does PRP Hair Restoration Work?
A minimally invasive procedure, the PRP treatment is a brief one-hour in-office visit. The session starts with obtaining a little bit of your blood and placing it in a special machine, which spins the blood at high speed to remove the platelets from the remaining portion of the blood elements. After that, a local anesthetic is applied to your scalp, and the concentrated platelet-rich plasma is reintroduced into regions of your head that are thinning or balding. Then, microneedling is performed on the scalp to cause micro-trauma and micro-channels to the skin, which activates the PRP and allows it to seep deep into the skin. Our protocol for nonsurgical management of baldness includes an initial treatment and maintenance therapies roughly every nine months to a year.
