Our Microneedling Technique
Louisville Aesthetics features the Sylfirm radiofrequency (RF) microneedling system, a cutting-edge technology that safely and effectively addresses several hard-to-treat conditions and issues. The Sylfirm system uses RF energy and microneedling with its brief repeated pulse technology specifically targeting desired treatment areas deep into the skin without causing collateral damage to healthy tissue on the surface. A microneedling treatment is done in one of our office procedure rooms in about 30 – 60 minutes with numbing cream or local anesthesia if desired; however, most patients report little or no pain and discomfort. The areas of skin being addressed will be cleansed before the microneedling handpiece is passed evenly over. Microneedling stimulates the activity of your skin's naturally-occurring purified growth factors, leading to collagen remodeling and an overall renewed appearance. After the microneedling is complete, a treatment, like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a vitamin-infused serum, can be applied so the nutrients can penetrate deeper into the skin. A moisturizer will be massaged in, along with UV protection since the treated skin will be more sensitive following the treatment.
